when i burn my dvd's the transcoding process takes about two hours is there a program that will do this faster before i actually start the burning proces
Check in your Device Manager to ensure that you are using DMA mode - if you are using PIO mode your encoding, burning times will be increased considerably.
nvm about the above thread just found out that my device manager is by default in DMA mode any more suggestions to speed up burn time
You could try transcoding the main movie, instead of preserving the whole dvd movie. Also, if you know how to disable background processes/fiddle with [bold]msconfig[/bold], this would help (just don't disable some important processes that need to run at all times). This would free up some memory so that the software you use to transcode would have more resources to use.
Hi drusse11, welcome to aD, Your encoding speed depends upon not only your transfer speed but also upon your PC. Installing a faster processor and more RAM will increase your speed. Turning off everything in your msconfig startup window and allowing your PC to work on just the 1 task will also speed up the process. If you are rendering files (changing them from 1 format to another) the time won't vary that much. If you are encoding files you can also lower your quality. Being satisfied with poorer quality will also speed up the process. Quality = time. Hope that has been of some help. Cheers, Pete
