Hi, i just bought a new laptop and i would like to quickly transfer my files from my old laptop so i can reformat it and sell it. I was wondering what was the best way (and also a step by step guide on how to do it) using a wireless netwrok. thanks in advance.

make sure both laptops have different computer names and are on the same workgroup, if your laptops access the net wirelessly then all you have to do is right click the folder you want to share, go to properties, click the "sharing" tab click on the text where it says "i understand the risk blah blah" then check the box that says "share this folder on the network" and also the box that says "allow network users to change my files".

once thats done you should be able to see the files from the other laptop in "my network places"

Ok tried it, but let me give you the larger scenario. I have a desktop pc connected througha cable modem and then through a wireless router. Both my laptops are connected to this network. Should i cahnge the workgroup name of all 3 computers? what else do i need to do to make sure i can easily share files from one of the laptops? thanks in advance.

@ddp, sorry, wont do it again ;)
