I uploaded an 8mm digital camcorder tape to my computer and using the appropriate software burned it to a DVD. The visual quality of the DVD was dissapointing. All settings are correct. I used a USB 2.0 cable for interface. I get mixed signals from various sources about that. Some say that's the cause and I should use a firewire, others say it makes no difference. Anyone know? Thanks. Hal.
what was the visual quality when viewed on your pc? look, usb 2 doesnt cut it, it may be 480mbps theoretical, but it does not reachthat in reality, and it isnt a constant stream, it does burst rate. get a firewire card. do not attempt to put anymore dv footage on your pc with the usb interface. i say again. use firewire. now.
thats np mate. when i first started learning this, i used usb 1.1 until someone like me told me to use firewire.
What ever you use the quality of the movie will not be improved! You cannot turn a coach to a F1 veihicle... Fixin minor features from analog sources can be done only from the software in use (abbility to change brightness and contrast).
he says he has a digi 8 cam, and thats a digital source. so hes obviously recaptured his footage via firewire . instead of usb2 which he was not happy with the quality of.
