    need more information.

How are you conecting? (directly from Xbox 2 computer) or (Xbox to router to computer)

What is all the network settings on the Xbox and on the computer?

    Example: (network settings)
    IP Address
    SubnetMask
    Default Gateway

on both your Computer and Xbox.

If you are conecting from your Xbox directly to your computer you need a croseover cable.

And give all the network information that I asked for above.

Tell me what network settings are in your Xbox network and the settings that is in the computer (NIC Card) settings.

Each should have IP address/Subnet Mask/default gateway.

you need to change some of the settings. so change the settings below and you should bebale to connect.

    Computer ip : 192.168.0.2
    Computer subnet : 255.255.255.0
    Computer Default: 192.168.0.1

    Xbox ip : 192.168.0.3
    Xbox subnet : 255.255.255.0
    Xbox Default: 192.168.0.1

Once you change the settings you can download your FTP program and for the IP to conect to you enter the Xbox IP 192.168.0.3 and uasly the user name and password is xbox/xbox

as of downloading Xbox games off the net you need to get a bit torrent client and find bit torrent file sites to download the games.

Once it is done you will have a folder with a bunch of RAR files in it. You need to download WinRAR to extract the RAR files. If you dont have it download it.

Once you have WinRAR you will go to the folder with the game in it and choose the first RAR file.

    Example:
    Xboxgame.000
    Xboxgame.001
    Xboxgame.002
    Xboxgame.003
    Xboxgame.004 etc etc.

There could be 5 RAR files or up to 20 or 30. It really dosent matter how many there is. You only need the first file which in the above case would be Xboxgame.000 RAR file. You would double click on it then WinRAR will come up and it will let you extract the xISO file from all the RAR files. So choose to extarct and it will automaticly extract all RAR files into 1 xISO file which you will use to burn to disc.

Once you extract and get the xISO file open up your burrning software and choose the option "BURN IMAGE FILE" and choose the xISO that was extracted as the source file and burn no fatser then 4x.

you need to go to the site or to a forum of whatever torrent program your using and leatn how to get better speeds for it.

    Example:
    portforwording PORTS threw your router
    firewall settings
    Anti-Virues settings etc etc

    larrylje,
I just followed the advise and exact settings you gave MATT87 and I still can not ping my xbox and keep getting a timeout error. I am using a crossover cable that I know is working and have disabled my firewall and confirmed xp's firewall is diabled. Any thoughts?

    Try it.
I dont know why it wouldnt be making a conection if you have the information i had above set up. Double check all the settings again. Now you are putting the Xbox IP address in for the "Server or URL" setting when you connect with your FTP client right?

    larrylje.....

I have done eveyrhting you said correctly. I need to know what to do next after I have "burned the image file" with my burning software.

I am assuming I have to ftp the file onto my hdd...Where do I want to save this file?

    Thanks for your help.
