I've got a 7gb file on my mac and I need to get it over to my pc side but I can't using parallels. Parallels doesn't recognize my usb slots so I can't transfer it via portable harddrive. I can't email to myself. There isn't a shared folder I can drop it into. I'm just stuck. Any ideas. I'm open to anything, even if it doesn't involve parallels.
You can always try VMWare Fusion, they have a free evaluation. It recognizes USB ports. http://www.vmware.com/products/fusion/
Parallels can actually recognise your usb ports. I use Parallels on my MBP and it recognises EVERYTHING on the MBP. The only funny thing is that you need to plug in your usb drive AFTER you've started Parallels (or actually, Windows). You'll get a prompt to the effect asking you if you want to use the usb drive for OS X or Windows... you choose Windows and lo and behold, you have a usb drive connected to your windows . When you logoff windows, the usb drive will automatically get connected to OS X.
Hmmm, tried that and it didn't work. But i did manage to create a shared folder, which truen out to be more helpful no transfer times. Now the only prob is getting it to see the disc drive...
