I have a DVD that we created for a family member's funeral using Microsoft movie maker (I think) and it's pretty small, only about 10 minutes How can I Transfer the DVD files into ONE aVI FILE that I can place on CD's? Can winavi DO THIS? IF SO, HOW? thanks
That program didnt work at all, after 4 hours it still wasnt finished and it looked like it died There has to be a better program and easier to change a DVD movie into an AVI file This funeral highlight movie is only about 10 minutes long and it appeared the program was going to make it into a 2-cd avi file by default and even when adjusting it would take up a whole CD, thats not right at all
If the movie is only 10 minutes long,it will probably fit on a CD without conversion; just use vob2mpg and extract the movie from VOB into one mpeg, it will be better quality anyway. http://www.videohelp.com/tools/VOB2MPG
the reason i want to convert is because i want to give this to people who dont know how to use dvd files will this program allow all the dvd files to be chosen and converted to one file that can be executed?
Yes, is exactly what it will do. Fire up the program, load the Video_TS.IFO file and click Extract/process(don't remember exactly how it is named). Just make sure in the settings you DON'T have a check mark next to "OUtput a mpeg file per chapter". This way it you will have one single file in a couple of minutes, that people can double click and play on their computer using whatever default player. It took me ~9 minutes for a full length(4GB) movie, you should have it done in no time.
