Recently bought a new computer and tried transferring files from my XP computer to the Vista. The software and transfer cable I purchased is Belkin Easy Transfer Cable. Here's the problem: the software says it works with XP with service pack 2. I haven't been able to upgrade to SP2 as my copy of XP appears to have been a bootleg copy (I bought this computer used from someone else). My Vista is legit. I still tried to run the software but it wouldn't transfer anything. Is there still a way to get my files from XP to Vista? All I'm really wanting are a few Word documents, internet bookmarks, passwords, and my iPod music. Any help will be appreciated

Vista actually has an Easy Transfer feature built in so you shouldn't need any third party programs. But since your XP may or may not have been legit it may be throwing up a red flag and not allow the transfer of files anyway.

I've tried the transfer program with Vista and it requires XP SP2 to be able to transfer the files.
