I have yet to successfully back up DVD movie. For testing purposes, I'm trying to back up three random movies. They are Ice Age, The Marksman, and DragonBall GT "Affliction."

The process I'm using to back up these movies are in this order:
    1) DVD Decrypter 3.5
    2) DVD Shrink 3.2
    3) Nero 6.6

I use DVD Decrypter first just to be on the safe side; however, I've heard I can just use DVD Shrink and be just fine. So I run DVD Decrypter and that works fine. Then I run DVD Shrink and that runs fine too. Finally when I get to the burning process, I usually get about 80% done and then it fails.

I'm using two types of media from Staples.
    1) TEON DVD+R 8x (really cheap stuff that sucks!)
    2) Memorex DVD+R 16x

I figured if I have a Memorex Burner, might as well by Memorex media. I would think using the same stuff from the same company should work fine.

Below is the Error Log that I don't quite know how to read when I tried backing up Ice Age. Can someone please translate this for me?:

Well Memorex media is Pretty bad also ,I have had really bad Luck with them especially burning at high Speed...

Also you shouldn"t be Burning at 8X ,Not unless you want to get to the end of a Movie as when Burning at High speed there is much more chance of Burn errors and DVD players are very sensitive to these Burn errors....

I can"t tell you how many Times I burned a disk at 4X speed and I get half way through Watching it and then all of a sudden the Movie starts Stopping and Starting and Pixelating and eventually just Freezes and won"t play any more...but If I put the DVD Back into My PC and Rip it to My HD and re-Burn it at 2X speed the Movie Plays Perfectly from beginning to end......

Well It is worth a Try....

    Cheers

Your firmware is up to date however i can see something that just jumps out at me: [bold]Disc Manufacturer ID: CMC.MAG[/bold]
    and
No, sorry, that sounds logical, but it doesn't work that way. I too have a memorex recorder and now the only time CMC mag ever gets near it, is when i test the media. Look at this link from creakys sig

    also
InCD4 has known conficts with many programs and you do not need it if you have nero. Go to windows add/remove programs and un-install it. along with changing media to the good stuff.
