Hi everyone, I have flashed succesfully a benq drive and a samsung drive to 1.5 using jungle flasher and my maximus xtractor kit. Im trying and failing to Read the key on my lite on drive using my spear and xtractor! windows keeps freezing when i power the drive on! Thats when its connected to my via 6421 sata card. When i hook it up to my mobo , it doesnt freeze when i power the drive , i can find ports etc no problem, However when i go to read the drive with my spear in hole it just fails (time out) and sometimes freezes in my pc. I have googled and googled and am pretty confused. do i have to change the drivers of my via card? Do i have to have my drive half open? Im using windows xp by the way. Any help and guidance would be deeply appreciated . Thanks in advance. James.
It freezes your PC right? That's exactly what happened to me! What I did was be "patient" and waited around 5 minutes and it unfroze and I was able to dump the key and flash the drive.
thanks stealth fot tut in dosflash. I have never used this program before, although i have flashed sammys and benq,s b4 using i prep. Can i use my stick that has iprep on and transfer files onto it to use to read my lite on? as in dosflash or dvd key? Can you direct me to a tut where the commands are written down as well so i can print it off and follow it step by step as i fo it please? Tanks in advance, im not familar with dosflash thats all. I tried being patient and it just stayed frozen my windows doesnt like my lite on!
Poggi, did you leave your spear in hole for 5 mins? was you using via6421 sata card or off your mobo>? when im connected to my via it wont even try and read key just freezes. off my mobo it just cant find it although it recognizes my ports.
here is another tut http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=672478 might be hard to print but just copy and paste the steps into word or notepad in the correct order as indicated and then print it out. I cant offer much advice from my own experience as i have not had the chance to mod a lite on yet. I just knew where to get the tut u needed. try googling: "dosflash 360 liteon" without quotes of course. see what u get, maybe try a diff combination of like terms and see if u get better results. EDIT: i just found a nice site with lots of info separated into sections like wikipedia it covers several methods of flashing lite on http://beta.ivancover.com/wiki/index.php/Xbox_360_Lite-On_DG16D2S_Extract_Key#Connect hope u can find some usefull info.
No.. what happened to my PC is that it froze whenever I turned the CK3 on that was attached to the Lite-on drive. What I did was turn it on in windows, then I waited for around 5 minutes or less for windows to unfreeze. I was using Nforce 6 and no I didn't leave the spear in the hole for 5 minutes.
Tried that pogii and didnt work looks like i will have to use dos next. Can anyone help me on how to use dosflash please? do i use my spear to extract key still? Do i make my usb stick into a dos bootable in "my computer" or use "iprep"? Do i put dosflash on a usb stick? do i use dvd key? im googled and googled and googled but find it very confusing! have been trying for 3 days now!;( thanks in advance
Did you change any settings in your BIOS? If you did, make note of your settings and try resetting it and then trying again. You can use DOSflash16 to flash via DOS. Beware that you'll need to use a Serial connection and not USB since DOS doesn't support USB. Lots of tutorials for this just search Google for "dosflash16".
Thanks pogi and stealth for your help and guidance, i appreciate you taking time out for me. I managed to successfully flash my drive 5 mins ago. Heres what i did. 1. uninstalled via sata card drivers. 2.connected drive to sata card. 3.xtractor now recognised my ports and didnt freeze when i powered the drive. 4.ejected the drive, then closed it and quickly pulled out power on the drive, this left the drive half open. 5. i then managed to dump my key and other files, and flash no problem in jungle flasher. Im really happy and appreciate your help . thanksfrom England poggi!
great to hear. a not for next time when u do the eject drive and close half way. it might be better to eject drive and the remove power and the manually push the tray in half way and then plug power back in. this will keep the system from recognizing that the eject/close tray button was pushed and that is the goal with that certain step of the procedure...but no matter u did it and thats what counts. enjoy!
