    Hi,

I recently downloaded an executable while searching the net for what I thought was a free program. (never again) I attempted to install it and for some reason it hit me that it was probably a virus. I cut off the install, but it was too late. Now everytime I search the net and click any link it brings me to some SPAM site. When I try to open my C drive it gives me an access error. I also checked and it won't let me do a restore as well.

I am thinking its not spyware. I ran Ad-aware and Avira Antivir.
Avira fround 2 Trojans and I deleted them both. I can't recall the names at the moment. After all that I attempted to access my C-Drive and no success.

Should I try a different Antivirus software?? I have never reallly had a virus before so I only downloaded the Free Antivir. Also I was wondering, If I copy my important files and just reformat the drive, will it take a part of the virus with it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
