trojans etc

    have a computer here with trojan viruses etc. won't let me go anywhere. won't allow restore, going anywhere on this comp. or to any site is impossible. help!

    moved to correct forum as not an all other topics issue. what windows, what anti-virus, anti-spyware & anti-malware programs do you have? sounds like a malware issue.

    windows xp it looks like everything windows..virus protection etc. this is my husbands work computer. the trojan is antivirus soft. looked that up on here and found sites that could help me but it wont let me go anywhere on that comp :(

    that is a malware & do not pay that company to get rid of of their program as they are extorting you & it won't be removed. most of the time i've had to do a reload of a customer's computer if i could not easily remove the program from msconfig/startup. do you have all your software & possible spare hard drive?

    sorry i couldnt get back sooner. had an emergency. ok well we don't have an extra hard drive or software. this is a comp from my husbands work place so if i cannot get rid of it he will have to take it in monday. but he has work to do this weekend so we are trying to take care of it now.

    ooookkk just tried to go into msconfig will not let me....now what? is it hopeless for us to do anything on our end?

    i did it :) it's gone. i went into safe mode and restore...yea! thank you for your time. i've come here several times for help and it is just sssooo nice to have a place like this to get help. i'm learning a lot too, which is GREAT because i hate not being able to figure stuff out myself lol anyway..thank you thank you you are all MUCH appreciated!!!

    windows xp and looks like they use windows spyware and antivirus and i cannot see any malware which i think is stupid on company's part. even the fact that they use windows antivirus and spyware i do not agree with. but it's their computer

    agreed. i use avg9 free edition & spybot search & destroy 1.62.

    so do i on my personal comp. have no problems...so far lol
