I am trying desperately to back up one disk of a 4 DVD disk set of the TV series Monk Season 1. I have tried DVD shrink, 1Click DVD and even tried the latest version od DVD decryptor. I have read many of the suggestions here but end up getting either a CRC message or some other reason why it cannot continue after getting about 50% complete. Anyone having the same problem? I would appreciate the help!
terp, I'm a Monk fan too! I've managed to back them all up with Shrink and Decrypter. From what I've read, the errors you're getting result from a dirty or scratched disc. I've also heard the thoroughly cleaning them with toothpaste (yeah, I know, sounds crazy) has worked for many. Maybe you could start with just a thorough cleaning using more conventional cleaning agents. Then, if that doesn't work, break out the Crest. Regards, DF
@ terp, dumbfuker(great name) is right-- crc errors are almost always caused by dirty/scratched disks, and cleaning them usually does the trick. u are using the most common programs, so it is not that. have u burned dvds before? could be your firmware, could be your media. give us some more info.
