I have a Magnavox MRD310 DVD player w/ surround sound...it's about a year and a half old and when checking out the specs online, it shows it can play MPEG files as well as burnt discs and also has a USB jack on the front. I have some AVI videos on my computer that I want to transfer via the USB jack, so I used Any Video Converter (I think I got that right) and also tried MediaCoder as well to encode them to MPEG format. After i encoded them, I transfered them via a USB drive to the DVD player, and after playing the video, everything was fine except there was no sound. I continued to try different encoding methods but still have not been successful in getting the videos to play with sound. If anyone wants to help and needs to see the specs on the DVD player, they can be found, in PDF format, here. Please if anyone could help in any way, it would be greatly appreciated...Thanks

Can you play the USB movies on the PC?
    Do they have sound?

Never mind guys, I finally got them to work using Xilisoft Video Converter...audio is about 1 second off from the video at the beginning, but a little fast-forward syncs it back up...thanks for attempting to help me out davexnet, really appreciate it. Problems FINALLY fixed now though! Peace.
