I just had to get a new hard drive because my old one completley crashed. I want to import my cd collection to itunes but it's like the software is not working with the drive. I know the drive is working because when I go to "my computer" it changes from d drive to showing a cd and saying "audio cd." I only have Windows Media and I tunes and neither will allow me to import my cds. My drive is a lightscribe DVD CDRW drive. The computer will not try to autoplay as soon as the cd goes in. Neither program will work even if I choose "open with..." I have tried to update the driver and it is the lastest driver. Im no computer whiz but i can get around well enough but this one is too much. Any help will be appreciated

I wouldn't waste your time creating junk. Who knows, maybe the latest update on Media Player will not allow you to rip any more. itunes will also let you rip but ditto. Why waste time making junk? These compainies would rather you buy the tunes from them than rip the music yourself. Use software without hidden agenda.

I would look into EAC which is shareware or PowerAmp converter paid for.

I would also look into 3rd party software to use instead of itunes. Eventually there will be a day when you will seriously regret not moving away from itunes. There are some serious share ware solutions out there.
