hi, I have just reformatted a new 320gig Seagate hard drive using chuckheads tutorial. All goes sweet until I go to lock the hard drive and I get an error saying; Drive on Primary Master is frozen can not change security status on a frozen drive! blah blah.... I know this particular hdd can be locked it's been done a few time according to the xbox hdd compatibility web site! Is there a fix for this? thanks guys jb.
Will be a BIOS issue with your computer! Read my 'Hotswap Tips' in my tutorial section! If all else fails, use a different computer!
Are you unplugging all of the original harddrives? I had this problem and was unplugging the sata cable from the hdds only but the cables were still connected to my motherboard and it was reading my xbox harddrive as the third master instead of primary. Just unplugging all the cables remedied this for me. hope this helps somewhat....
