I am new to DVD burning and I used DVD Shrink to copy a file and then Nero to burn the DVD. I am using a DVD+R 8x (speed) and I am able to play the DVD on my computer but not in a DVD Player. When I insert the DVD into the player it says "no disc". Can someone please help me figure out how to get the copies file onto a DVD that will play in a DVD player. Thank you :)

The first time I backed up a dvd. I burned at 8x. It would only play on 1 of 5 dvd players in my house. Re-burned at 4X and it played on all of them. It was fujifilm 03. Check out the media forum REAL good info on getting things to play. Hope this helps

That kind of helped. So your saying keep using the same things I am using? I am using DVD Shrink then Nero to burn. So use a slower speed on the program or do I have to get different Cd's that are 4x?

    THank you for your help

What kind of media are you using? Because that can be ALL of your problems. I use 8X and 16X but only burn at 4X for increased odds for success. Dvddecrypter is a good burn engine if you can still find it. You can and it's free. There are issues with nero if cd burn is loaded. I have it but don't use it much.

well i had this problem, and it turn out to be my player didnt support the type of media, make it easy, before you waste any disk try it on diffrent machines, i'e other dvd players , if you have a ps2 i know ps2 do plays dvds, if they work on the ps2 that mean you machine you trying to play the disk on, dont support the type of media, some machine support dvd+r some dvd-r so keep that in mind.

I am now using a program called dvd cloner has anyone heard of that? I have been trying to burn on that program b/c I still can not figure out how to use dvd shrink and nero to burn the dvd. Once you get shrink to do it's thing then it is saved on my computer and what does nero do? How do I get nero to burn it?
