    Hi,

Nero 9 reloaded won't accept my avi files that have the all region codes. I can only convert them with ConvertXtoDVD and even then they won't play on my mother's Sony DVD player. I have seen that this is probably something to do with Sony. But why won't nero accept the files to convert?

    Thanks

Only commercial movie DVD disks have region codes - so that isn't the problem.

Depending on where you live, you should be setting Convertx for NTSC (North America) or PAL (EU and Australasia) video output.

You should also make sure that you are using known to be reliable blank disks - that means Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden brand.

The disks should burn at half the maximum on the package - then push the speed up if you are getting good results.

When you say Nero won't accept the files - what exactly does it do?

It begins to process the file than comes back a couple minutes later and says it cannot add the file.

I am making sure that the file is in the correct format (ie pal vs ntsc) but I am using Fujifilm discs. I didn't realize some were more reliable than others. I only use DVD +R discs as I find the DVD-R are usually poor quality.

Try loading the files in FAVC or DVD Flick - see if they have a problem with them.
