First off welcome to AD. Now as to your log, You need to go back and edit out your serial number. Its the one that starts with 1A20- . Just go to the pencil symbol next to your post and it will pull up the edit post screen. you have a very old version of Nero, i think Moses used it in his time to burn back-ups of the 10 commandments Now the latest 6x vers is 6.6.0.18 and the download packages are around 35Mb each, so its going to take lots of time if you only have dial-up. i cant seem to find this drive on the firmware page. I can find an SDW-041, but that is not the same as your drive. Go to the drive manufactures home page, and see if they have a firmware update. Your vers is LX44. I think that drive may be a Fujitsu-Siemens but i am not sure. DMA is also off for that drive Bbmayo can show you how to fix that: http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/checking DMA.pdf You are doing ok on memory. You could still try to close out some programs when burning to free up more memory. You are burning to the very edge of the disc, and that is where dye coverage can be spotty or missing. Reduce your target size to something like 4300 or so. Here is where you change it in Nero Recode 2 you click on the custom setting, and it lets you input the target size. looks like it doesn't like your media. Try some good media, and Slow it down to 4x burns maximum. Fix all those things, try different [bold]GOOD[/bold] media, and see about that firmware and if you can update it. You don't appear to have any other major issues going on from what i can tell. BTW who made the discs you are using? I cant tell from the log. and that took waaaaaaaayy too long to do. Probably because your DMA was off on the drive you used.
Also i am going to get a mod to move this thread, as i think it belongs in the Nero section, not shrink.
