I have been useing dvd decrypter with shirk for about 3 years and I have had Vista for 7 months never had a trouble with it. Now decrypter keeps telling me medium not present I thought it was the burner going out but all my other programs burn just fine no trouble. if I keep playing with it. opening the tray it works when it wants to. Nothing has change on my end to make this happen I have removed the program and reinstalled it 3 times so thats not it. THANKS
i don't have Vista(thank god lol) but an Vista update could have caused it. one thing you need to do with dvd decrypter is make sure the check for automatic update is TURN OFF!! so the program is not talking to the internet. i would try using IMGBurn with dvd shrink and see if that works or try using clonedvd 2 + anydvd http://webpages.charter.net/bacitup/
DVDFab HD Decrypter is freeware, does a good job and is updated regularly. It's the best replacement for DVD Decrypter. I'd suggest RipIt4Me, but it lost support and there's a few DVDs it can't handle now. I believe DVDIdle was updated for Vista. That would include DVDFab HD Decrypter. Shrink seems to keep plugging along, so use it while it still works. Go with ImgBurn for a free burner program. LUK is still updating it.
