Thanks in advance for this awesome forum and any help you experts can give me. Here's the deal...I just loaded Me Too Software's I Copy DVD's 2 on my XP machine and then downloaded DVD4.3 like Me Too suggests to deal with the encryption issues, but the smiley face icon doesn't load in the taskbar and the program will not copy my encrypted movies because it's not capable of removing the encryption. Previously this same machine worked well with the original X copy, but I was thinking the new software would be faster. Is there a better way to deal with the encryption? Did I blow it with I Copy DVD's 2 ? Machine is runing XP Pro and worked great with X Copy. THANKS
try removing all the software programs dealing with ripping and download dvd 43 and install then try ripping a encrypted dvd or download dvd fab this is a free program which will decrypt all dvds including all the new encryption that are showing up on newer dvds you will need a program like nero to record on a dvd
Thanks for your help david66. I did remove X Copy, DVD 2, and dvd 43 and started over and still dvd 43 won't load in the taskbar. When I try to remove dvd 43, it says it's running and I need to shut it down before I can remove it. This is strange because it's nowhere on the taskbar and I click the icon and nothing happens. I have to go into msconfig to shut it down so I can remove it. Ugh...I shoulda just kept X copy in the machine but I'm not sure I have any activations left.
If you put your hand in your pocket & buy Slysofts' AnyDvd & Clone Dvd2 you will have a combo that is REALLY hard to beat. It is well worth the money. Dvd43 is a nice little prog, but lots of people have probs with it conflicting with other software. I have RF X-copy, it still works a treat, activations are still available. Just visit out X-copy forum & follow their lead. I am a recent convert to Clone dvd2 & I love its versatility & ease of use. You get what you pay for, pay nothing, get little in return!
