I need some help, please. I have a Dell computer with a NEC DV-5800A DVD drive and a NEC NR-7800A CDRW drive. I've just recently added a Sony DVD RW DRU-530A drive to the computer. Currently, I have the DVDRW as the master and the CDRW as the secondary. I want to use the DVD drive for just playing movies and the DVDRW for just burning. I tried setting up the DVD drive as the secondary but my computer recognizes both drives as regular cd drives. I also tried switching the settings, DVD drive as master and DVDRW as secondary, it gave me the same results. The only set up that the computer will recognizes the drives as what kind of drives they are suppose to be are if I have it the DVDRW as master and the CDRW as secondary or DVD as master and the CDRW as secondary (original settings from Dell). Any help would be gladly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Make your dvd burner your master and the dvd-rom your slave on the same ide cable. Set both jumpers to cable select. boot up and check.
