Okay, this probably has a simple eplanation, but I'm not seeing it. My wife (Really! It's her!) has a DVD player with a USB port. I give her avi and mp4 files on a memory stick to watch on her big TV through this method. The avi files work great. The mp4 files, well, most times they work fine, sometimes they don't. The problem ones will take forever to start and when they do you can't fast-forward or rewind or else the whole thing freezes. And some of these files just won't work at all, period. These files work perfectly on a computer. Avi files never show this problem for her. Any ideas? Can I fix these files to work properly?
I think it would be better to know the supported audio/video codecs of the player, and then you can decide if you want to re-encode it into the codecs your player will read.
