    Good afternoon,

    I tried to boot my computer this morning and when it was starting up, my house lost power. I restarted it and now I'm getting the following message;

    *** Stop: 0x0000007b (0x82079910,0xc0000032,0x00000000,0x00000000)
    INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE

    I've tride starting it in safe mode however I'm still getting the same error.

    Can you help me troubleshoot this error?

    Thanks!

    Thanks for the link.

    Do you know if theres a way to run chkdsk when the computer strats? I want to check the disk for errore however I cant get past the blue screen. Not sure if theres a function from the safe mode.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

    Hi Aparsons,

    You could try the "last known good configuration" from the BIOS menu. Here's a link

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307852/

    Be sure to tap F8 repeatedly until menu loads. Maybe that
    will help. Good Luck!

    Good morning,

    I just tried starting with the last known good configuration and I'm still unfortunately getting the bluescreen.

    One thing I want to point out is that the blue screen occurs when windows tries to load the second startup screen. When its about 75% complete the screen of death appears. Not sure how good or bad this is but at least it tells me that the hard drive is working partially.

    I dont have my original windows disk so I was wondering if you know of any recovery software for Windows 2000 that I can use to boot the computer from CD. Just looking for a way to access the harddrive for troubleshooting.

    Thanks again for your assistance.

    Aparsons,
    Hi again, I'm sorry to hear your still having the BSOD. And without the recovery discs I personally don't know of anything for Win2k. You seriously should, after this, look into getting a backup battery\surge protector for you PC. Because it sounds like your file system has been corrupted due to the outage. Here I'm posting you a link though and if you can move you HD to another computer you may be able to run the chkdsk and repair.

    Let us know how it goes and good luck.

    THanks Lillith88

    Just wondering how you feel about the following software;

    http://www.ultimaterecoverycd.com/

    It looks like this may work but I was wondering if you or any of your resources have experience with this product.

    Thx

    Hey again,

    I've not used that product myself and after looking at some reviews you may want to look into UBCD4win. It's freeware and sounds like it can perform the same functions as PowerSuite. Here I'll post a couple of links for you. See what you think

    and

    http://ubcd4win.com/index.htm

    So why pay if you can achieve the same result for free? Might be worth a try!
