So, here is a question... Can the 360 do "true" 1080p? I've herd that because the discs are not bluray disc it cant be true 1080p. Im thinking its strickly a resolution thing, if you have a 1080p signal to your TV and its being displayed in 1080p it wont matter if the disc is bluray or not. In other words the its a hardware thing not a software thing.. Any comments will be appreciated.
exactly right. both input and output devices must be HD to get TRUE 1080p...meanig 360>hdmi cable> HD tv
You will find alot of post saying that the xbox 360 cannot do 1080p which in now untrue, these predate the HDMI xbox's, with component the best you can get is 1080i (I cant see the difference though on my 50" HD TV)
You can do 1080p through component too as long as your TV supports it. The 360 won't upscale DVDs to 1080p over component though.
I don't re-call any 360 games that are in native 1080p. There are a couple on the PS3 though. What happens is when you play a 360 game that has a native resolution of say 720p, the picture gets upscaled to 1080p if your TV supports it. It's not "true" 1080p.
There are a few native 1080p games on the 360. FIFA Street 3, Sacred 2: Fallen Angel and Virtua Tennis 3 being a couple of examples. There's also 1080p XBLA games, such as Perfect Dark which is out next week.
