    Hi I'm new,
    I need some help.
I'm trying to burn a .DAT file, which is a movie, onto a 700mb 80 min CD-R with Alcohol 120%. The only problem is I don't know how. Can anybody help me? The .DAT file is around 750MB so can the burning program compress the image onto the cd? And what settings do I set it so I can burn the movie onto the CD? Can I? Any help is appreciated.

get nero - open it up and select recorder then select burn image..

a .DAT file you say? - is it an image?

    think that might work...

Use the VideoCD template in Nero.

If the movie comes from a (S)VCD image you must use VCDEasy: Tools --> ‘(S)VCD Build/Rip’ choosing the destination of the ripped riff file AVSEQ.DAT (the same of the output .XML) and, later, Tools --> Cdxa2mpeg to convert the ripped riff file, located into C:\my_dir\AVSEQ.DAT, into a ‘true’ MPEG file e.g. C:\my_dir\VIDEO.MPG. If you have a ‘mounted’ image, e.g. with Alcohol 120%, or a real (S)VCD or have already the .DAT file, you can convert directly D:\MPEG2\AVSEQ.DAT into C:\my_dir\VIDEO.MPG (be sure to have enough disk space!).

    no you dont

you can either use the method above or, like i do - mount it into a Virtual drive and just copy the mpeg file onto your hardrive work with it from there

aldaco12, could you give me links to those tools because the other methods people have mentioned just gave me coasters :(
BTW, I don't have to burn these .DATs onto CD-Rs do I? I just want to open these things up somehow and watch the movie.
