I used DVDSanta (is there better free software to burn a DVD?) and converted WMV and AVI's to DVD format. I went to burn the DVD and got a "insert blank DVD-R disc" and I have a blank disc in there. What's the problem here? I swapped to another blank and got the same response.

    I'm using Maxwell DVD-RW discs.

Sounds like your burner doesn't like the blanks you're using.
Try a DVD-R, instead of an -RW.
May be an issue with the file conversions, and the -RW format?

probably a dumb question, but can your burner burn -R format?

Also, try a firmware upgrade, that helps sometimes.
