Hi folks - advance apologies if this query type has already appeared here!!
OK - I bought a dvd box set at a recent ZappaPlaysZappa gig, didn't realise until I got home [I know, I know!] that it's Region 1 [I'm in Ireland - Region2!!] I used dvdshrink to rip it as region free to my HD - all ok so far...
Got some Memorex DVD-R DL 4x discs and tried to burn it using Ashampoo, disc failed = expensive coaster!
Tried MagicISO to create and burn an ISO - nuthin' doing there.
Went BACK to dvdshrink and ripped out just the main movie and burned to dvd+r... ALMOST ok but [!!] for some reason, it's imprinted, kinda like a permanent subtitle, some text at the bottom of the screen!! This is driving my crazy - can anybody help with 1.Burning the files to DVD-R DL & 2. Whats the deal with the subtitle poop?

Can't recall imprint txt [I'm at work now, I can check this later tho!]
I bought it at the Zappa gig from their merch stand, so it seems safe to assume its legit!!!
    Thanks for your reply btw!

Interesting. It's nothing that I can make any sense of unless this is a "watermark" for authenticity.

Does this imprint exist on the original?

Could it be that it's something that transfers onto a backup??

DVD-R DL discs are usually for pc drives and not readable by stand alone players (and they cannot be booktyped nor bitset)

I been Using "Memorex" (DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW n DVD DL's) for around 3 years with-out any problems, till 2 months ago.....so I tought is time for me to up-grade my "Media" and I start using "Verbatim" and "No Problemoo" anymore since then....

    Hope this may help you.

Hmm - the plot thickens so!! No, the Original is free from titles, in fact its quite an amazingly well produced item [all things considered!]

Use ImgBurn to burn instead of nero.
