Trying to burn GTA Vice City...

    Hi,
I've read the instructions and other threads, I keep getting 'CRC' errors after burning GTA Vice City (SecureRom New).

I used Blindwrite, Alchahol120%, Nero, but all the disks give me errors on installing, usually about 40% into the install.

Also, I've downloaded 3 different .bin files and a .cue file, each on gives me the same probs. :/

    I have a Yamaha 2100e.

If my burner is not up to the job, can anyone suggest a good replacement?

    Thanks.

Well, I'm sick of Coasters now, so I guess the Software Corporations have won this one, nothing I do can give me a working copy of this game.

I've downloaded 4 versions now, each one different in size slightly.

I've used Blindwrite, Nero and Alchahol at varying speeds from 4x to 16x.

Every one gives the same message at the same time.
    :/

CRC errors hmmm..... what about everyday regular burning ... does that work? (perhaps your burner is toasted?)

    hi

firstly if you are downloading from wherever then that is part problem! as i used originals to get the image in the first place! your download may have been dumped to HD at 500 miles an hour!

so burning to disc at 2x wont do zipo!

but i dont want to burst the bubble!

KEEP TRYING i have been where you are and got over it like many on here!

THATS WHY WE ARE ALL HERE AFTER ALL or is that afterdawn? hehe....

ok, USE BLINDWRITE! its the best for this protection!

Q, HAVE YOU A BWA FILE IN THE DUMPED GAME FOLDER??

if not i can send you mine so you dont have to search the net!

what file format is the files in? bin? iso?...

    ok setings for blindwrit are!

in configuration= enhance week sectors ticked!

    autoplay ticked!

    YOU MUST BURN= DAO-PW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    AND BURN SLOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    2x if you have to!

Please come back and let us know!

I burn stacks of stuff m8,

Thing is, it can't be the .bin file, as I've got several different versions of it. ALL of them can't be corrupt(?)

The CDR's are decent Memeorex ones.

I'm using WinXP, Athlon 2600XP, NForce board, 512CrucialDDR so my rig is up to the job.

Try passing some of those images through CDMage's error checking thingy... you never know until you verify.

    No!
The files are all .bins and I downloaded .cue files to go with them(?)

I'd appreciate if you sent me the BWA file! Thanks.

    I'll follow your instructions.

CDMage did find errors, is this conclusive?

    Thanks.

Thing is, Blindwrite doesn't accept .bwa files! Only .bwt! :/

    hi

ok - you DO NOT LOOK FOR THE BWA FILE!

you just put it in the folder where the image is!

bwa files are only for blindwrite i think? maybe alcohol?

you know if its working as you click through burn process you can scan the image and it shows on some of the settings!

sounds confusing but its simple - just a couple of clicks and wammy!

    try it!

you click the bin file or whatever! to proceed along to burn it just adds it in - in the background as it burns!

make sure you set autoplay and enhance week sectors!
