Hello, I just got a new dvd drive and accidently uninstalled my old version of nero. SO i installed nero 7 premium and now when i try to burn DVD rip that i downloaded it is all distorted. I burned it once, it took 12 hours and came out all distorted. I fallow the tuttorial here about DMA, all my settings were fine and said DMA but i reinstalled it anyway to be safe. Tried burning the same movie and it was going to take 9 hours but when it was going thru the frame by frames it still looked distorted. Plays crystal clear on my PC. Is there a plugin tht i need to download our something? I can't remember what my old version of nero was, think it was Nero 6 premium. I always use to burn movies that i downloaded in like 3 to 4 hours and they turned out great. What do i need to do?? Thanks for your help.
is it just burning files to dvd or encoding say an avi to dvd then burning? try dvd flick its free, load file, set options for ntsc or pal + burning options, then click create what plays crystal clear on pc? the file before or after the 9 hours the dvd you make? ---------------- with the new dvd drive did you install a new ide cable also? may of been a 40 wire and not a 80 wire. have you taken a drive out and put this drive in on same cable?
yes i took drive out and put it in on same cable, i baught the exact same drive as before. The movie comes in 2 halves and is a dvd rip. when i play it on my pc with it plays fine but when it's burning it starts to distort the picture. I wonder if it's the video file that i downloaded. I'm a little new to all this, been burning movies like this for a few years with my old nero. I would just got to ceate dvd and drag over the files to burn and then press burn and they all turned out fine. do i need a plugin?
are the dvd distorted after burning when played back? is the drive in same position on this cable as before? (did you set jumper correctly? and is there another drive on this cable?) go to nero/toolkits/control center/licences check ya plugins there your second post is confusing? how long you been converting avi to dvd? or have you just been copying a dvd to dvd for years? you may need the xvid codec = http://www.xvidmovies.com/codec/ --------------------------- do you have a nero log file post it here for us to read
yeah its's distorted on dvd when i play it back. The drive is in the same position as before with the cables, and the jumper is set to master. as far as the AVI to dvd, most of the movies i download are AVI i believe. Like i said i'm use to just draging them into nero and burning them, they always came out fine.
