I am trying to join two avi files with virtua dub but i keep getting the message that the video streams have different data formats. I have tried nandub too with no success. Can anyone help me please
hi, i understand your frustration, as i faced the same problem. but unfortunately, i think if the two files have different data formats, they cannot be joined. somebody correct me if i'm wrong!
he is right. what you can do is. drag both clip to your video player and it will play both consecutively
So hows that work, do i convert them to dvd first then just add both files to my recording task? Let me know please as i been stuck on this topic for over a week. Thanks
so you want to make a dvd, just like you said, make the mpeg2 first then join it with your available application. mine is tmpgenc merge and cut tool
Ive put them to convert on TMPG now and they will be two seperate mpeg files when they are finished. Could you please just explain in detail how i am to join these two files? Also do i u se tmpg plus or tmpg dvd author, thanks
i only have plus. so, under file you'll see mpeg tools options. then you'll see merge and cut. load both of the file and run. it will do the job.
if they are standard mpeg streams you can simply concatenate the files. use the dos COPY command, with the /b (binary) switch: COPY /B file1.mpg+file2.mpg+file3.mpg+... total.mpg remember the '+' between each file to concatenate. the files will be concatenated in the order they are listed in the command. leave a space between the last file and the destination file.
