    Hello,

I have not seen anything I am need of on your site. I have gotten nowhere with microsoft or even HP.
I have an older pc, my daughter is using, because we all know what kids do to a pc. Well, it was bought brand new, it is a HP Pavilion 512W, it works ok, it goes online and all that, but it seems there is a lot of little issues with it. I do not have the recovery disks because HP put them on the hard drive. When I try to do a recovery, it says starting recovery, then the screen turns blue and there is an error message: STOP: C0000218 {Registry File Failure} The registry cannot load the hive (file):\System Root\System32\Config\SECURITY or its log or alternate. It is corrupt, absent, or not writable.

I have been trying to get answers, but no one seems to know exactly whats wrong. All I want to do is a factory restore, but alot of good my recovery on D is doing. Do you have any suggestions?
