I have a FTA receiver that I can plug a hard drive into and "capture" a video file of a show. It saves them in .ts format. I assume that this is a hi-def format, but I've never delt with it before. I have reformatted the .ts file in to a DVD-Video Format - NTSC(*.vob) (I used Wondershare Video Converter) and then tried to burn it to a DVD with Nero 9 (Nero Express), but it says, "The file is larger than 2 GB and therefore cannot be stored in an ISO file system. Please use the UDF file system to write such large files. This can be done by selecting another compilation type." I've never messed around with video files much and don't understand what I'm supposed to do. 1. Am I using the correct Nero program to burn a DVD that I can watch in my DVD Player? 2. If I need to break this up into smaller files, how do I do that to still make it play like it should. 3. If I need to switch to a UDF file system. a. What is it? b. How do I do it? I feel like a bit of a moron. I've had three different Nero versions, but I only use a couple of apps. I always think I'll spend more time getting to know it, but it never happens. I would be grateful for any help you could give. I've spent a couple of evenings browsing through old files, but haven't seen one that deals with this. Thanks, Kalbster
Oops, I meant to post this in the Nero forum, but I was still reading forum posts looking for my answer and inadvertently posted it in a "less than ideal" forum. However, until a moderator finds it and moves it I will leave it be. Because I'm not doubling up a post, and I haven't figured out how to edit it yet. Thanks for your patience. : )
I guess I needed to spend more time playing with the Nero Program and less time reading the posts . . . just kidding. I found out that I was using the wrong Nero Program. I was starting with Nero Smart Start and clicking on the make a dvd button, which took me to Nero Express. I read a post that LOCOENG was helping someone and he was talking about Nero Vision. So I tried it and what do you know. It works. Maybe the reason I only use a few of the Nero Programs is because Smart Start only sends me to a couple. I'm not even sure I needed to convert the file from .ts to .vob
