I have tried to use the tsMuxer/IMGBurn method to burn my mkv movies to dual layered dvd+r discs. My Samsung BD-P3600 standalone player does not recognize the burned disc. I am almost sure it is able to play AVCHD discs. I have also seen that if you remove some of the files from the muxed version of the movie it will play.

    1. Can anyone tell me if the Samsung BD-P3600 will play backups?
    2. The files I mentioned to remove, does this work?
    3. what is the best way to burn MKV files to a dual layer disc to play on my BD-P3600?

This is my first post, so please excuse my ignorance if I posted this thread incorrectly. Also thank you for any guidance.

Your first post... Welcome! Good post BTW, precise and to the point.

    1. Yes, the Sammy 3600 will play AVCHD (I'm pretty sure it does). You should use the latest version of tsMuxeR found here. Set the output to AVCHD.
    2. Not sure about the files that should/shouldn't be removed, check this thread for more info. The people there put in a lot of hard work testing compatibilities with different versions of tsMuxeR and stand-alone BD players.
    3. tsMuxeR --> AVCHD output --> IMGBurn using UDF2.5 file system.

    Good luck.

    Thanks Odin24:)

I have now been able to burn onto DVD-r discs, but still not able to burn onto DVD+r DL. Is there a reason?
BTW, I looked at the link Odin sent about the compatibility of standalone players and found a small program called pop-BD.
Setting po-BD I checked the remove auxdatabox, which is suggested for Samsung players. I have tried to set the disc size to DVD-9, but it does not burn. When I set it to DVD-5 it makes 2 titlesets for 2 DVDs. This program then uses the tsMuxer to mux the mkv file. Before I burn with IMGBURN I run the AVCHD PATCHER. This seems to work.
Can someone explain why I am unable to burn onto a DVD+r DL. Could it be that it is + and not -?

Thanks to all for your quick reply,
    mantyzeke

Can't say for sure as I do not own a Samsung player. You may want to check with your owner's manual for disc type compatibility. You could as over at Doom9 as well for other tips/tricks.

I have tried the tsmuxer method also with no success. The first time I tried it, it worked for an MKV file that fit on a DVD+R. Ever since I have been trying to muxe large (6 gig) MKV files and burning to DVD DL +R with no luck. The disk burns fine with no errors but When I play it on my Panasonic Blu-ray player (DMP BD-35) it plays sound but no picture. I have tried this with 3 different muxed mkv files. I have also tried it with 3 different brands of DVD DL's. I have also tried it on 3 different DVD DL Burners. I have tried muxing to Blu-ray and AVCHD. My Blu-ray player (DMP BD-35) plays AVCHD files. This isn't working for me. Any ideas or suggestions?
