I have used anydvd HD to rip a few blu-ray movies to my hard drive and I want to shrink them down to just the main movie with one audio track. After reading around in this forum I think the best way to do this is with tsmuxer correct? My question is, what output format should I choose for the video so that I have no loss in quality, but I can still play back the movie using powerdvd ultra 9?

You should choose the "Bluray Disk" option.

I have been exactly where you are, and with the intention of storing a smaller ISO of the Movie for playback with Pdvd. (of course you have to mount the iso first in a virtual drive).

The best and quickest way I have found is to use Clown_BD
The zip file download is what you want because it contains the other programs needed (which is'nt much).

Clown BD is an effective almost one-click GUI which executes what would otherwise be need to be command line entries for the programs EAC3to and TSMuxer. It will also open Imgburn if you want and burn an iso to BD-R or just an image on your HDD.

It's best to have the demuxed, re-muxed and ISO output destinations to seperate HDD if you can to help with the speed but the last couple I have done took under 2 hours.
If I were to give you any tips it would be regarding the audio.
EAC3to's built in filter cannot re-encode DTS audio so the options are, to either select the "Leave as is" option to retain the True HD audio track or what I do since I have a DD/DTS 5.1 surround system is to select the extraction of the DTS core and choose the AC3 option. This way, the audio file is much smaller (part of the original objective) and still sounds great in 5.1 surround at the lesser bitrate).

    Hope that helps

    P.S, just remebered another tip,
If you have Vista OS or the Toshiba UDF drivers installed on XP, in conjunction with AnyDVDHD running you will not need to rip the movie to your HDD, Clown_BD will strip it staright from the disc.

thanks for the info. I was just looking at the latest version of dvdfab platinum 6, and it actually has the option of copying the main movie and whichever audio track you want from a BD disk! Im going to give that a try as well. Seems pretty easy to me.

When i started searching for programs to rip bluray etc one of the website results that came up was DVD FAB.(5)
I already had DVD FAB 5 platinum but it did not do as i was led to believe. Then I realised AnyDVDHD was the true king.
Maybe they have improved DVDFab in ver 6 but don't hold your breath.
The clown-bd method really isn't very complicted and near enough one click solution.

I just used clown BD to back up Body of Lies and it worked great! Very easy to use, thanks for the heads up on a great app. I will try using DVDfab 6 with a different movie and let you know how it turns out.

Your welcome, glad you worked it out without too much trouble.
Yes, will be interesting to see what DVD Fab can do.
The best use i have found for DVD FAb (considering how many programs there are for authoring a DVD, and free at that!) is for re-encoding dvd to mobile format so i can put video on my phone. I Don't do it often but it's good at that.

yeah, most of the time I just use dvdfab for splitting dl dvds of tv show episodes onto multiple single layer dvds and that works great.
