i have a gateway gt5018e with a h552b and ive been burnind dvds for about 8 months..now all of a sudden it stopped reading dvds..i put in dvd-rs, and movies but it doesnt read them..it only reads cds..i put a cd in and it worked fine..the computer recognizes the drive and i uninstalled and reinstalled it but nothing changed..PLEASE HELP thank you
sounds like your burner has gone bad pull it and install a new burner this happens all the time you can update your firmware for a last stab effort but for 40 bucks is cheaper than a trip to the geek repair shop and they will say your burnner is bad
