Okay so i just went out and bought a TT Big Typhoon and when i went to install it i have no mounting holes drilled in on my MOBO so i had to take it back....MADE me HELLA mad cause it like the best and it wont fit my motherboard is a GIGABYTE GA-7N400-L and a AMD ATHLON XP 2800+ and my CPU runs pretty hot so can anyone recommend what would work and still give me good cooling????
Go for the Thermaltake volcano 12 http://www.thermaltake.com/coolers/volcano/rs/a1745.htm or a Thermalright http://www.thermalright.com & look for the SI-97 (K-7) the mounting mechanism for the socket A cpu is a simple clip on design , if your mobo has no holes around the cpu mounting then you'll have to use this method
Thanks for the reply but i counld'nt find any Volcano's at near by Fry's Electronics's or any other place and i dont have a bank account at the moment so i could'nt buy one off newegg but i ended up buy some GIGABYTE HS heres the link check it out! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835128009 It Didnt really help but i would rather use it cause its alot nicer
And by the way i also got the Pro version of this HS and it came with a fan contrl face plate for the front of my case and i can turn it up TIL I CAN'T HEAR!!!!(WHAT DID YOU SAY, I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER THE FAN!!!)LOL, But i usually run it at medium speed
the cooler ive gots pretty good. very slightly louder than the big typhoon at 20dba but its socket A mountable its the Aerocool GT1000 gold plated cooler
