    Hey I have a question.

I downloaded the sound track to beatmania IIDX 12 and when I got it, it came with a .cue file, a .log file, and a .tta file. Well I found a way for the tta file to play in Windows Media Player, but it's all in one large song.

Is there anyway to extract the songs from the tta file so that they can be their own seperate files?

    Thanks in advanced.

TTA is a new form of lossless compressed audio. If you want to split the file into its separate tracks, that is what the cue file is for. There are many programs that do this, but the ones I know of like mp3 splitter & joiner or mp3 surgeon handle mp3s only. I personally use EAC (exact audio copy) to do mine, which reads wave and mp3 files. so try uncompressing the TTA file to wave format, then try using EAC to split it. use dBPOwerAMP to convert the file to wave. you can find the link to the website in my sig below. be sure to install the TTA codec plugin as well.

Hey. Thanks a lot... but everytime I try to load the .cue file, I get a meesage that says "Error in CUE sheet". What could've went wrong? Will I just have to make my own CUE sheet for it?

open up the cue sheet in notepad to have a look at it. if you have changed or renamed the file (which is that case if you decoded it to wave format) then you will have to change the filename in the cue sheet to match that of what the new file is. (ex album01.tta to album01.wav). that should fix the problem.

If I have to make my own CUE sheet, how would I go about doing it in EAC?

actually I made a mistake, you can only burn the album to a audio CD with EAC. it will still split the CD into the tracks, but if you just want to make audio files on your computer you'll have to use another program. like I said, the ones I know of only do mp3 files. scroll through the software section here under audio, I'm sure there's a freeware app that will do the trick.

your cue file should be fine, just open it in notepad and make sure the filename in the cue sheet matches the filename of the audio file.

Another update. I just made my own CUE sheet and I still get the error message. I don't get it. Why won't it work?

I used the wave editor thing in EAC to make the CUE sheet. Then just to be sure, I had it generate one of its own as well.

What do you want me to do? Did you say give you the CUE sheet so you can see what it looks like? I didn't quite catch the last part.

Sorry if this is annoying, but I'm pretty good with audio technology and stuff. But this is the first time I've come across a TTA file and those type of things. If I can figure this CUE sheet thing out, it'll be really useful in the future.
