Is there a Tube tv (27" or under) with dvi or vga imputs. I have a bad experience with Image Burn so i want to get a Tube Tv I want to hook up my computer to my TV With high Quality because i am tired of using composite. I have been told that my video card (ATI X80O GT) does not support a DVI to Component. Does anybody know if this is true.
i think any ati card should support dvi to component but u have to get the converter....well anyways there is hdtv moniter with hdmi ports which if u gonna use hdmi u dont need the converter but they cost about 500-700 that will depend on what brand u will be getting also if u didnt know the dvi to component adapter ati make those and they do sell them
Thanks for the quick repsonse i think ill wait and get an LCD tv with DVI built in instead, despite the risk of image burn. Sorry for my late reply
The LCD technology has no risk of burn-in. Tube tvs do have a risk of burn-in! There are three "main" types of DVI. DVI-A (analog), DVI-D (Digital), and DVI-I (Analog & Digital). The ATI card would have to have either a DVI-A or DVI-I port to be able to support component video. DVI-D is only compatible with digital conections like HDMI. Ced
Thanks for straigthening that out i thought LCD tv's would be like projection TV's which have image burn. Based on what i have read from ATI's website i think i need a adapter like this one http://shopati.ca/product.asp?sku=2550138 as opposed to a DVI to component. Also how would i find out what kind of DVI slots i have(i dont have a instruction manual for my video card)?
http://shopati.ca/product.asp?sku=2537967 well the link that u gave is for s-video....i wouldnt go with s-video since s-video isnt all good for veiwing on tv http://shopati.ca/product.asp?sku=2537967 here is one that should go well with ur video card... i not sure what kind of video is it a ati or a 3rd party product? also heres a site that explain what dvi port u have http://www.directron.com/dviguide.html
