hi, does anyone know of the hack/software to turn a dv-out slot on a digital camcorder to a dv-in slot? many thanks!
This is called a DV-in widget. Google around for these terms and you will find them. They are prettey widespread for older models, but the manufacturers became smarter, so for most newer models you will not find them.
In Europe, on many camcorders the ability to record video back to the camera via the DV connection has been disabled. This is often referred to as 'nEUtered' and the reason for that is that a camcorder that can be used as a VCR has higher import tax. With a widget you can enable the DV-in again. The legality of it is a bit questionable however...
