    Hi!
I currently have a pc thats constantly downloading from the net and its connected to a network via cable (into a hub then to a router), i also have a laptop that is connected to a network via cable (same process as the pc). Basically i want to be able to turn my pc on using my laptop through the network, is this possible and wht software is available.

    PC:
    on-bosrd LAN connection
    WIndows XP Pro
    AMD Athlon XP2400+

    Laptop:
    On-board LAN connection
    Windows XP Pro
    AMD Athlon M

    thanks

yes it is possible. I do now know specifically how to do it, but I know that you need a network card that has whats called WON (wake on lan). Most newer NIC cards have them, but I don't know about on-board ones. Best bet is to look at your motherboard manual for your PC, and if it has WON there should be a page or two on how to use it.
