    i really can't think of anything else to try. did you try using another program to burn? i use imgburn all the time for burning purposes, and never had a problem with it, but maybe something is conflicting with this program. you can try using clonedvd or xbox backup creator.

    if this doesn't work, i would try a clean install of windows, making sure you backup everything you don't want lost. i have done this before to "clean up" the hard drive, and found that the performance of the computer increases and sometimes errors that would normally occur, go away.

    other then that, i really don't know what else you could do. hopefully you get the problem sorted out. good luck.

    i am not too sure about the patching. i use my samsung kreon drive to read the discs and haven't downloaded any.

    you should be able to just download and burn. if you want to make sure they are patched, just download them and run xbox backup creator. under image tools, you can check to make sure the images are patched before burning. hope this helps.

    Your problem. Use Verbatim DVD+R DL discs. LOL

    Everyone else's problem. You don't have the correct firmware files. If you need opa 2.3, let me know in a PM

    What should my write speed be x2, x2.4 or x4? I burned at x4 and it did not work.

    Hey guys was having problems with my Pioneer DVR-111D, it kept on shutting my pc down when I write to DVD. My fix was that I had an old Dell DVD drive: Philips DVD8601. I converted my Philips DVD8601 to a BenQ DW1600, then to a BenQ DW1620. Updated to the newest firmware and burns backups 100%.

    Philips DVD8601 - BenQ DW1600 - BenQ DW1620

    Burn at 4x with Verbatim DVD+R DL discs and you won't have any problems.

    if youre talking about xbox 1 games for the xbox 1 (not 360) use stomp recordnow max to burn the game iso.

    or you could have just solved your problem by setting the correct jumper on your dvdrw drive (cable select usually works every time, no matter what ide connector you use)

    @matt25 : I have the 108 and with the 1.20 firmware, it also automatically booktypes.

    @everyone:

    After flashing my drive, I can get SLAX to recognize it once in a while, but when it is recognized and in modeB if I reboot, the drive isn;t recognized and my PC hangs like a mofo during POST. I did get it to work one time, randomly, but my flashes said they failed. Hopefully as others have noticed, it really worked.

    Who wants to work on a SLAX distro with me, incorporating all this flashing stuff in one nice LINUX boot CD???

    I think Windows Vista maybe the problem. I used DVD Decypter, Clone CD and Image Burn on my old PC with Windows XP and they were fine. Tried installing and using those programs as before on new PC with Vista and all i get is coasters.

    Why would Windows Vistas do this? I think it is your Writer.

    MDUGA: I think you might be able to help me. :edit: because I ran into the same no-vga cable problem that you did ;) :end edit: Heres my problem...

    I can burn the games fine, but I am having problems flashing. The steps I take are these...

    -Boot with SLAX to modeB. Reboot PC.
    -Flashed in XP. Said it failed. Rebooted to try in safe mode.
    -Slax --> modeB
    -PC hangs when Hitachi is in modeB now. Not sure why. I have heard of hotswapping as an alternative but I have no SATA optical drive to do so with.

    Now, my problem is that I thought the flash worked even though it said failed, because it went through all the steps in xtreme 2.3. 9 steps in all I believe. However, I out burned games in and get the "Open Tray" message. Odd, so I read up on it and came across some info stating that with this firmware, THE DRIVE SHOULD GO INTO MODEB IF POWERED UP WITH THE TRAY OPEN. This does not happen for me, can anyone confirm that a succesfully flashed drive will do this? Also, there is supposedly a mod that overcomes the "Open Tray" problem by simply pressing the eject button once while the burned disc is reading. In my case, the tray just opens up.

    Thanks in advance!
