Tutorial: How To Burn XBox360 Games

what software are you using to burn; imgburn or clonecd, are you opening the .dvd file to burn, what brand dvd+r dl discs are you using, what burner are you using, what hacked firmware did you flash to your drive, do other games play fine (if not, it might be a bad laser) and and I'm guessing the games region code is PAL, not sure if it's region free...if it's not, you need a PAL box to play it

have just bought a pack of the tdk but still having drama! i think it was just a bad copy of game will see what happens thanx for the input though!!

 

Hi i have all the requirements, and all th programs, but i bought dvd+r but instead of it saying duel layer it said double layer, and are duel layer discs have two sides to right on becuase ths type seemed to only have one but it was a 8.5 gb, whats the diference and will it work? on my modded xbox 360.

 

Ya I think Dual and Double are the same but idk. I use Double to burn mines. 8.5GB.

 

Before asking this, I wanted to read as much of this thread as I could to see if it was previously asked, and so I don't waste your time... Then I noticed that there are 75+ pages haha.
Maybe you should throw up a commonly asked questions on the first page?

Anyways.
My friend burned 2 games for me, and I know he used DVD+R DL disks, and that the game content and everything was there, because when I booted up the games, it read it as a game file, but said "This disk is unreadable, try wiping it with a soft cloth, and restarting the console."
What should I tell my friend the problem might be?
His burner?
Refer him to this forum?

Hi mate tried burning the game with imgburn and clonecd (my other successful burns were done with imgburn) yes I am opening the .dvd file (and imgburn automatically selects the .dvd file anyway) im using a pioneer 115, the brand of my DVD Media I cant remember but but I have already made a successful backup of need for speed pro street with the same brand, im using ixtreme 1.2 (i cant work out how to upgrade to 1.4 so thought id just leave it) the game is PAL and REGION FREE but I have a PAL box anyway.

SpeedX100-lets try to uninstall your drivers

BOOT INTO SAFE MODE (JUST DO IT!!)
1)Start>My computer> right click >properties
2)hardware tab
3)device manager
4)CD-ROM/DVD drives (names will differ) right click uninstall drive
5) restart into windows
6)upon login you will prompted to install new hardware if not go start>control panel> (make sure your in category view, left hand corner box to enable this)> "Printers and other hardware" >left hand corner "Add hardware", not "ADD PRINTER"
once done you may reboot or not

SpeedX100 did you change the download source for your games, did you switch unraring software (use winrar)
post back results

 

I just installed a Pioneer DVR-212D and I can't seem to make a working copy. I am burning it @ 2.4x and using Verbatim -R(is that ok or does it have to be +R?). I've used Imgburn and changed the Layer Break to "1913760". I am using newzbins and I'm actually able to unzip them into 2 files(1 large Iso file and a smaller DVD file). In ImgBurn I've clicked on the "browse for a file" and then clicked on the dvd file and it started to burn. At the end of the burn I am getting an error code(I'll actually write it down on my next coaster).

 

has to be dvd-dl +r

can someone tell me how to do a .dvd file!,, i have the .iso file 7.05gb but no .dvd file ,i heard you can do it with notepad ?,how,, thanks for any info!

p.s. about dvd+r dl 8.5gb 2.4x i use verbatim also,,,but i use some brand called GQ (great quality) 15 pc for 16$ and they work,also...

 

I have followed all the instructions to burn the game, but when i should start it stands "Mixed media disc". What am i doing wrong plz help me!

save it as <iso name>.dvd

 

i use img burn with 8.5gb dl discs
in imgburn- go to
tools-settings-write- right side check user define and put sum 1913760
and the open file and burn,,worked for me...

I use clone CD. Im trying to burn halo 3, i get half winrar rar files and the rest just rar, i have one nfo file and one dvd file. I have unrared the rar files so i have one iso file with 7.4 GB. Then i put it in clone CD:s iso folder and mark my samsung burner and start to burn the game. Then the burning be a succes but when im putting my CD in my XBox 360 it just stands "mixed media disc"
Im starting to get crazy and maybe give up but i dont want to...
Plz help me

 

you should have 2 files .dvd file and .iso file
i use img burn

 

Thats what i have but when im trying to burn i only can mark one file.

 

you need both files!,but both files needs to have the same name and in the same folder,,
and when you burn with imgburn the program will pick the .dvd file,,,

so in the folder you will have something like this format:

game.dvd >>>this is the .dvd
game >>>this is the .iso

 

hi mate, no i didnt change download source of unraring software (i used mininova.org) iv tried un-installing drivers and re-installing with no success??!! Thanks in advance.

p.s. tried the burns I made in a pals xbox and still no worky poo's
