Tutorial on running ISO's via USB on Devhook, Firmware 1.5 ONLY

I don't have tokobot but i do have Syphon Filter and it runs o.k.

Guys quick Question my Socom runs great via ISO but if I load the UMD "The game could not be started". Any Ideas. I had the UMD running great with devhook without mods but this one won't load it.

 

realg187 yes you can run ISOs right off the Memory Stick Pro Duo(that is what DHv46 was for)USB is only a mod and all PC's will work
Go to ebay for a 4gb MS and this is how your MS has all the files
ISO/all the iso go here
dh/ all dh files
PSP/GAME/all homebrews

1773 what did you do? you do not need to have the gui launcher(delete or format the MS then install DHv46 with no mods)then install the Mod v1.62b that is smaller

lplover2k your games are not untouched. My syphon filter and tokobot work ok.(look for my settings in this thread)

PedoJuco my UMD's do work with mods. Did you change the settings from iso to UMD?

 

What else can I try? Is this for a 64 OS system? I couldn't get this going on Windows ME. I could not get a connection.

I install the driver. I choose to specify a place for the drivers (libusb0.dll), then choose the directory where my unzipped the usbhostfs file.

I have extracted usbhostfs.exe, cygwin1.dll & cygusb0.dll main directory to my PC . I tried to type the all following in a command line window.

usbhostfs.exe
usbhostfs /cygdrive
usbhostfs.exe /cygdrive
usbhostfs.exe /cygdrive/E (my usb drive letter)

I tried to renaming the new Usbhostfs to Usbhostfs_pc won't work.

I have also installed the libusb services, and nethostfs. I tried to connect with all of the programs and didn't work.

i have uninstalled and reinstalled the programs and drivers five time. I even tried with different a custom firewire

in your PC make a folder
PSP USB/usbhostfs.exe, cygwin1.dll & cygusb0.dll
PSP USB/ISO/all your iso games in here
with all the files in side and a ISO folder

open the usbhostfs.exe with the USB cable conected from PC to PSP
then open DHv46 with the USB On(in the Other menu in DH)

you do not need to type anyting(where are you typeing?)

 

I am using DevHook Launcher and VSHEX Mod v1.62b



How do you turn usb on?

 

Go in to DHv46 mod v1.62b and in the menu with all the settings go in to Other then USB enable.

 

you don't need to USB enable in to DHv46 mod v1.62b. it auto detect usbhostfs

However, you need to install the mod pack in DVv46 in order to have USB enable.

I try it both version. However, I keep on getting this message in usbhostfs.

I tried to load some iso and cso. It will get a blank screen.

 

@juan2320 i didnt install wut u told me to, first the devhook and then the other thing, but the other thing had the same file names as the first devhook i installed, so it overwritten it, after it was installed i tryed to play the game n it juss went to a black screen for 5 sec then turned off

 

leptons I think it is your PC.(try to reinstall the type B driver in a new USB port)

Do you use the GUI mod v33 or the mod v1.62b to go in to DH?

 

why do you get the psp type B driver ?


Is it the same as libusb0.dll (41.5 kb)?

or do i have to play the games from the start?

Let's sart from sractch, what the 222 MHz thing about, is it a version # or a processor speed measure, you said I dont need 222 ciz of DevHook

 

leptons you need type B driver installed on your PC so USB works.(look in the first page here)or get the Windows_PSP_Type_B_USB_Driver intaller (ps2nfo.com) I thing it is the same as the driver folder with 4 files(libusb0.dll)

untold23 Yes you can save those games on your memory stick.(they work the same as original games)
any homebrew app you use can break your psp(but I don't think it will)becouse they do not flash any thing on your psp

Juan I figured out why my Socom UMD was not working.....I had to dissable CWCHEAT for it to work, some of my games were starting to mess up too. I actually uninstalled it and i'm now trying the New CWCHEAT (Ver. 0.1.5)

 

CWCHEAt always gives me problems buddy, although I have'nt tried the latest version.

 

hey will this work on devhook for 2.71? because i useually emulate 1.5 using HEN and devhook for 2.71...if it does work can some1 tell me wat i need n how to instll it..thx

pspjunior I think that you can but you need to use DHv45 with HenC in 2.71
Do you have DHv45 working with no mods

then put them over your old DH files in your MS(let us know if it works)

 

Also I heard that using a 1.5 game versus a newer game seems to work better and I can totally confirm that. Using my socom UMD to load some iso's would give me weird freezing problems but then i switched the Socom UMD and replaced it with a Tony Hawk UMD everything ran perfect again, even with CWCHEAT enabled.
