Tutorial on running ISO's via USB on Devhook, Firmware 1.5 ONLY

I try the with the type b driver

I keep on getting disconnected.

Does it work in windows me ?

Where did you get the type b driver?

Question guys, I downloaded a game "Megaman Spy Hunter" and it's a folder with a bunch of "ifc-mega.XXX" little programs in it (they are not RAR files) and I've dragged the folder with all it's contents to my UMDGEN and created an ISO but it won't run at all. Did I do it the wrong way?

i don't think it works for usb1.1

if it will work, the game will lag horribly

 

They are winrar archives,try opening them with it.

 

PedoJuco do it the same way I told you last time.(there are some files that do not look like winrar files)but they are
rigth clik one of the files then Open with(in the list of all your PC app's)press Winrar
Then go in to that file and drag the iso out of it.

 

Never seen this problem, maybe you guys can help. I have a "Open Season" ISO which I have played before but now when I try to load it I get the following: A critical error occurred while reading data on the UMD. Press the back button to try again, or the HOME button to return the PSP to System Software........Anybody's seen this before?

 

Keep the problem for your records,but remember,whenever a problem with devhook comes to you the solution is:

<<BACKUP,FORMAT,RE-INSTALL>>

This solution should be at the first page for the noobs.

 

hi quick question if i just compress iso to cso and load them up in my umd use dev hook to start will it work because i am not rippingit just merely compressing from ISO 1.4gn to 700kb cso

thanks vamp first time i be doing this first i have read read read and got all the information my nephew 9 year old has a psp and going to downgrade it with the guides here then load devhook and see if i can load the games using 2gb umd and hopefully everything should work

I have download everything including nexbie guide he is in uk i am in usa going to uk in 2 weeks so i hopefully set him up and show him i have so many games i downloaded from newzbin so hopefully i can just put them on his hard drive and show him copy paste in iso folder what ever games he want to play and start devhook to play.

then delete the game from iso folder and load another

saj070 I think that the game you compressed will not work from ISO 1.4gn to 700kb cso(that is to small to work)
Did you try to say ISO 1.4gb to 700mb cso?
What app did you use to compress it?

 

yes sorry i used PSP ISO Compressor 1.2 just straight concersion from iso to cso

i do have all orignal iso or do i need to use another compressor ??

so is your .cso 700kb?
PSP ISO Compressor 1.2 has to work.you can try to get a new Compressor(or use UMDgen)
got to http://psp-haxors.com/ then downloads for the devhook with 2.71 and installer

 

Yes all images ISO format became CSO so my 1.4GB ISO became 700kb.cso

saj070 that is not what you need for the USB mod in your 1.5 psp.
It is Ultimate Installer USB Edition v0.3.1 or v2(this works with out the 2.71 SE update)
the 2.71 SE is an update that you will flash to you psp(you will not have 1.5 psp)It will be like a 2.71 psp mixed with a 1.5 psp.(99% of homebrews work)and devhook

The .cso you Compressed will not work(I do not know why it is that small)
Try to Compress a new iso or use a new Compressor app.(or use the iso to play)

 

You saying devhook will not work on cso formatt hmm? i was told any iso or cso file will work on devhook problem is this is my first time so i am still learning so you telling me just use iso not compress them to cso hmmm ok

iso and .cso will work with devhook(most of my games are .cso)
But the one you have at 700kb .cso will not work.(there can not be a game that small)
If your game was 700mb it would be ok.(try a new Compresser)
Try to Compress 2 or 3 games so you see the size.(most .cso games Compress only like 25% to 50%)

Yes Ultimate Installer v0.3.1 is all you need.(install DHv46 and you can play your games)

my question is do i use the one you sugeested devhook.46 with 2.71 or the ultimate i have no idea what is what i would really appreicate if you can tell me exactly whay i need becuase i have 20mb file for devhook i got know this is 30mb file whic has a different name so please i would really appreciate if you tell me which file softwar ei need to run cso games.


ok this what i am trying to do i have 30 games i got form nezbin converted them to cso formatt i purchase 4gb memory stick pro duo know i going to downgrade the psp to 1.5 firmware.

the part i need help is devhook and do i need 2.71 or do i load the Ultimate Installer v0.3.1 or are the same ??

then i thin all i need to do is drop the games into iso folder in psp and i start the game with devhook.

please advise the best way to fd this
