Tutorial on running ISO's via USB on Devhook, Firmware 1.5 ONLY

tried the 8980000 setting no go. im not sure what im doing wrong. shoule the cso be on the computer or my ms root?

it seemed to be the file itself , i letted my friend in the us send me a copy of his back up and now it works ^^ well thanks for the time ^^

 

lucky you. i however cannot do so. i got boht the the rar file and cso file in the usbhost iso folder, even tried putting the cso in the root folder and switching to capture to iso, nothing. to any one who got the cso and iso formats running on the dev hook for 1.5 psps PLEASE PM ME with your setup an maybe we can walk thruu together to see what i did wrong, i will comp you for your time and help, thanks.

 

hey, atm i've got an iso of Gta Vice City Stories, it runs fine through this devhook but i've tried adding in cheatdevice 2.1b and after the psp logo it freezes at black screen, i'm sure i've done everything it says to install it, i got it working once after that it stopped working, anyone know whats wrong?

 

My PSP froze too after the PSP logo until I changed a shorter USB cord on another USB port, it is worth trying.

 

I never figured out how that worked...

 

Juan since I finally have everything working again, just tyring to clarify something. You can only use original isos, nont csos or rips correct?

 

yes you can use csos only and not dax or anything else

 

Hy... Got a question: Why is it necessary to maintain the USB cable connected until I have done playing the game and rebooted back to framewore 1.5? Can I disconnect my PSP from the USB cable once I have started the game useing DEVHOOK?

No, that will not work. You use the usb to constantly access the iso file as you would if you had it on your memory stick. So if the usb is disconnected, the connection between the iso file and the psp is lost, meaning no game would run. Hope that answers the question.

 

alrite...noobs here...
so let me get this straight...the ms root file and usbhostfs pc win file while i just download and successfully installed..(took me 3 hrs just to do that but i did it.YAAA.sigh..i really need help)..to make it simplfy...all it do is allow me to play games thru my pc rite??..i just put games in the iso folder under the usbhostfs_pc_win folder and then click the usbhostfs.exe file so i need to play games with a usb cable connect to my pc???..

what if i wanna install on my memory stick? how do i do that?? i notice on my memory stick under the game folder..i have 3 files in there and some eboot program in there...do i delete them and put iso files or games in there? or just how do put my games in my memory stick?? can someone help me plz>??i really need help...i thought the .46 is for me to install game on my memory stick..that's why i went out today and bought a 2g....but now i realize all the usbhostfs thing do is connect to my PC which i can play off my computer(which is great..dun get me wrg) but is more reasonable if i can play it without a usb cable i mean after all...it is a portable system..

also i notice..after i follow ur guide and install those 2 files.dh.46 and usbhost files....i cant go back to firmware 1.5...i m a 2.71 now...(not does it matter..i dun really know what it do anyways..but is nice to knwo why and what it do..) i was originally a 1.5...after i install everything is 2.71 now and i cant go back...If some kind fellow can help me out and answer all my questions...that would be truly, deeply, sincerly, appreciate it...PLZ guy...thx in adanvce..

Valfore some games do not work with cheatdevice 2.1b(and this thread is only for USB)

mystic54 original(untouched) isos and .cso work. If they are riped some do not work.(riped games work)If you know how to rip them.(like me)

GR13 the USB cable has to be connected when your playing a game in the PC.(how will it read the game if it's not conected)

pting69 you need to search some more for your ansers.(and Read this thread and you will know more)
Do all that you see in the first page here and you will be ok.
If you what to play them from your MS put them in the ISO folder.
ISO\(.cso or iso)
dh\(FW files)
PSP\GAME\(homebrew app's)
Look for a dh.46 thread for more hlep on how it works(and Read)
Hold the power butten up for 5sec. to go back to 1.5

huh??!? i'm using the cheatdevice 2.1b made for Grand Theft Auto Vice city stories and i'm talking about devhook with the usb mod.......

 

ok..i rad thru must of it and i kinda get it and this thing is getting a bit more clear...however..it doesnt seem to load games in the iso folder on my pc....ok here the thing..i d/l nba live 07 and after i exract it...it pop out 2 files..."psp_game" and the "umd_data,bin"...do i have to rename it to iso? if so which one??
or if someone can pm me with their email address so i can ask them...that would be greatly appreciate it...thx

 

also if i tried to load the "psp_game" folder.. it some how loaded my umd game instead...before i tried a different way like put the game folder on somewhere else...it would load to fw 2.71...but now it load up my umd game..does this make any sense to you guyz..please help...thx..

 

you've basically downloaded an extracted iso so use UMDGen and make an iso, get it from here http://www.umdgen.com/ hope that helps ^^

yes u can use any iso creator program for example iso creator and then you put the umd.bin and psp_game in there...and when done creating it it.It should say its an iso file when you go properties.. U then put this iso you created into the ISO folder
