yes they do work perfectly but most drives work with no probs and as for the dvds i have you anything from office depo,memorex to verbatim and all have worked

I have one more question:

When you go to get the ss file for the game does it automatically go out and find it for you?

 

anyone know of a program for PC that can be used to tell the region of a game?
I could use one of those so i know which stealth files i need.
Some of them i just do not remember as i got the games a while before i got my 360.

 

you can get the ss file one of 2 ways you can use xbox backup creator or you can go to the site like i did. as for the merging ss merger will do that for you

 

@steimy on xbox-hq they have a list of games that you can use i cant remember but it seems like the list may only be region free games

These are all NTSC for USA ONLY.

When you open the SS merger you have to open the ISO file and click yes on md5 sum. After about 10 minutes you should get a big error box pop up. The reason for this is cause hackhell was not provided with enough donations to keep the server up. Thus it has been shut down. this is fine just clikc ok and then load the games SS file from the above .RAR file. then click merge and that's it your done.

 

hey....i got everything working but when i use SS merger i get an error saying that it cant connect to the database....now are people gettin errors like this? are you guys still ignoring it and is the game still working? thanks

 

yes just ignore it it will work fine

 

yup I ignored it last night and tried it.... and it worked thank god! lol so much relief hahaha no more paying for games for me

Can you use the method to rip all xbox 360 games? Including new ones(crackdown, nba homecourt, etc)

 

quick question, do you have to use this method every time you use an orignial xbox 360 game or just once and thats it?\

like say if i have and original copy of gears of war. after following this method and eventually burning succesfully, i have created a backup of gears of war. now say if i have oblivion. do i need to REPEAT the method for oblivion or can i just rip the game easily(meaning that do i still have to have my PC's dl dvd drive top taken off and once again swap the disks)? in other words, when doing it a second time, do i have to repeat the same exact method or is this a one-time method only?

yes you have to do it everytime to trick windows into thinking its a dvd but you dont have to change the layout file everytime it will be the same for most games

When it comes time to patch the iso is it ok to just use the ss.bin file? I read somewhere that you need the ss, dmi and pfi files for some games. If this is true ... how do you add those in SS merger?

I did the complete tutorial and took the suggestion of bypassing the detect botton on ssmerger 1.7. My question is I noticed that when it merges the ss bin with the iso I get a file named .dvd. What is the proper size for this file. I get 1kb. When I open other .dvd i usually see 38-43kb. What Im I doing wrong. Thanks and great job on the tutorial.
