I have a HP DV7 laptop and a custom built HTPC(in the works, adding as I go) and a LG 42" Full HD tv. When laptop is connected through VGA to TV it will display in 1920x1080 fine, taking up the whole screen. Same goes for the HTPC. When I connect the laptop through HDMI to tv, still displays in full HD. When I connect the HTPC into the tv with HDMI and try to display at 1920x1080 the display is considerably smaller with lots(and I mean nearly a foot on each side and 6" on top and bottom) of black area around it. Any ideas?
