I Have never boughgt anything but a CRT TV. I would like to buy a really big TV, but I don't know what to look for, or what to ask. I'm a computer guy, I know alot about that stuff, I know little aboout TV's, and I'm not ashamed to admit that.
I would like to get a decent Big Screen TV (50" or Better) to watch DVD's and Play My Console games (Even Hook my PC to it, if it can handle the resolution)
I don't want to spend over 3k, though. We have a Circuit City Near By, and a best Buy about an hour away.
Do any of you TV freaks have any insights as to what will suit me best, or what I won't be dissapointed with?
    Thanks for any help.
Also, my Current TV is a HUGE 32" CRT. It may not ne HUGE, but it's the biggest damn TV I ever Bought.
    Again, Thanks for any help...

Hey how u doing, I recently bought a Toshiba 42' lcd and its awsome. much better picture than the sony bravia counter parts. as far as what you want in a tv. I would say make sure it HD ready and important it has the proper HD connections, as some tvs accept HD signal from arial but dont have HD connections for things like Xbox ie. PC connection is good will handle anything your pc spits out. I have also got 2 scarts and other av inputs. you certainly want at least the pc + HD ready and connections and scart connections. oh by the way my tv was £1800 and it rocks. hope this is of sum help.

As much as I like Samsungs LCDs I figured he probablly wants something a little bigger. If you want one of the best larger sized TVs out there I would look into the Sony - 50" Grand WEGA SXRD.

But thats if you want some kind of projection TV, if you want a flat pannel pretty much your only option would be a plasma. So let me know wether you want a flat pannel or not and maybe we can help you out a little more.
