I have been given the opportunity to buy a Sony bravia KDLV40XBR1 (the 40" XBR model) for half price. (2000$) The TV would be used for video games, specifically the upcoming Playstation 3. Now, my problem is should i buy this now, or wait and get a 1080p tv, also i havent been able to get a response time spec for this TV anywherewhich i figure is pretty important for what i want to use it for. Also, if this isnt a good display for games, could you guys recommend anything under or around 3000$ (has to be compact also .)
The 40" XBR is one of the best LCDs that type of money can buy. It has a response time well under the limit for video games (at 8 ms). If you can get the 40" XBR for $2K then hurry. You could wait for a 40" LCD 1080p tv by one of the name brands to drop under 3K or you can pick up the WestingHouse 42" 1080p LCD right now.
