TV settings - VSM

    I was poking around my TV's settings and found an option for VSM. It seems that when I set it to "yes" it looks sharper. What exactly is this setting?

    Tube type TV?
    Velocity Scan Modulation.

    It's a process that 'sharpens' edges at the cost of cartoon outlines and/or 'ringing'. Most will tell you to turn it off.
